Internova Travel Group, one of the world’s largest travel services companies, is highlighting its sustainability programs this Earth Month and showcasing how sustainability is becoming a driver of travel sales.
The company's Green Circle eco-luxe sustainability initiative helps advisors learn about sustainability-minded travel brands, equipping them with the knowledge they need to support travel’s sustainability shift.
Internova launched its first Sustainable Travel Knowledge Learning Module, introducing advisors to tourism’s impact on the climate, waste generation, wildlife and communities, giving advisors a foundational knowledge of sustainability’s importance within the travel sector.
A strong example of the company’s influence on sustainable travel is Internova’s advisors generating over $1 million in sales following the company’s first sustainability-focused educational trip with Micato Safaris in 2025.
Internova’s also committed to carbon neutrality for employee business travel in 2025, and became a member in the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. Sustainability initiatives include helping to fund reforestation, renewable energy and emerging environmental technologies through Sustainable Travel International.
“One of the most powerful things we can do is give our advisors the tools and firsthand experiences they need to speak confidently about sustainability,” said J.D. O'Hara, CEO of Internova Travel Group. “At the same time, we’re creating new opportunities for our travel partners to showcase their sustainability efforts to a global network of more than 100,000 advisors who influence where and how their clients travel.”
The company plans on expanding its Green Circle sustainability strategy with more initiatives, educational programs and partnerships, and continues working within its carbon neutrality commitment. It’s also recently donated to the UNESCO World Heritage Program.
Additionally, advisors wanting to experience sustainable travel first-hand have new opportunities to do so with the next Green Circle—Global Travel Collection Educational Trip, in partnership with Atlas Ocean Voyages, Scandinavian Airlines and NORDIC Star.
