WHY IT RATES: MAST JV is doing its part to create networking opportunities for the travel advisor community. -Codie Liermann, Senior Editor
MAST JV, MAST's Young Professionals Network, hosted a month-long fundraiser, between July 13 and August 15, 2021, to support ASTAPAC, the American Society of Travel Advisors' Political Action Committee.
The fundraiser allowed MAST agency members to participate in a virtual 5K run or walk from anywhere, at their leisure. Travel Advisor members, delegates of ASTA's Midwest Chapter Board of Directors, MAST Staff, family, friends and even pets all took part in contributing to the cause, more than doubling the goal of $750 in donations.
MAST's Director of Membership & Business Development, Stephanie Werner, Member Services Manager, Courtney Simpson, Creative Strategy & Analytics Manager, Matt Hutten, as well as, the JV Development Committee, spearheaded the fundraiser with help from John Haskins of the Midwest ASTA Chapter.
"As the young professionals of the travel industry, we came in at a time when business was booming and the networking and engagement opportunities were endless. The effects of the pandemic completely shifted things into crisis and changed the industry as we knew it. ASTA worked tirelessly to ensure the travel agency community wasn't crushed by what has happened and ensured access to funds the government provided to help small businesses survive the financial impact. MAST wanted to do its part to ensure ASTA has the resources to continue their work." Werner said.
