Playa Hotels & Resorts, owner, operator and developer of all-inclusive beachfront properties in Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, honored its top-selling travel advisors at its lavish 2024 Spotlight Awards held at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun in June.
The company invited advisors who booked and registered a minimum of 400 room nights in the previous calendar year. More than 100 were in attendance for the Willy Wonka-themed celebration.

Honoring Travel Advisors
“We’re incredibly proud to bring back our annual Spotlight Awards and honor the remarkable commitment and partnership of our travel agents,” said Dean Sullivan, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Playa Hotels & Resorts.
“In 2023, U.S. and Canada travel agents were responsible for 20 percent of Playa’s business, contributing more than $206 million. Based on their year-to-date performance in 2024, this sector is on track to exceed last year’s performance, suggesting significant growth and a bright future for Playa.”
Playa Expansion Plans
In fact, during the celebration, the company announced that over the next five years it will expand its portfolio with new properties in key destinations, enhance existing resorts and forge strategic partnerships with global hospitality brands.
Upcoming openings for later this year include Kimpton Tres Rios – the first all-inclusive for the brand, and Paraiso de la Bonita, a Luxury Collection Adult All-Inclusive Resort, both in Mexico; and Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
Playa currently owns and/or manages 24 resorts (9,027 rooms) under the following brands: Hyatt Zilara, Hyatt Ziva, Hilton All-Inclusive, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Wyndham Alltra, Seadust, Kimpton, Jewel Resorts and The Luxury Collection.
