As greasy as it might have been, British Airways came up with a solution for a catering issue on Sunday.
KFC to the rescue!
On a flight from Turks and Caicos to the Bahamas and eventually to London, British Airways learned that the food it had packed in Turks and Caicos was not properly chilled and had to be thrown out. Rather than force passengers to wait in an extended delay for more food, British Airways just ordered KFC during the stop in Nassau, Bahamas, en route to London.
You know, just your typical take-out order.
The airline ordered mostly several buckets of chicken. But according to passengers, it only worked out to about one piece per person in business class and economy.
There was no word on coleslaw, baked beans or mashed potatoes.
It’s a brilliant move to quickly solve a problem, but it’s not unheard of. In the past, when encountering similar problems, airline pilots have been known to dip into their own pockets and order a plethora of pizza, for instance.
On Instagram, one person called it an absolute disgrace.
But it’s not the fault of British Airways.
Rather, the catering service at the airport is mostly responsible for delivering the food to the airplane. Perhaps the catering company did not have enough food for the lengthy flight to London.
That said, it is likely, or should be likely, that British Airways will offer some compensation to its passengers.
The big question is, would it have made a difference if it was Popeye’s?
