Alaska Airlines announced that tickets are now available for
the carrier’s new, daily service between San Diego and Atlanta, which launches on
May 16, 2024.
With the new California-to-Georgia route’s introduction, Alaska
will offer 37 nonstop destinations next spring from San Diego to cities across
the Northwest, Northeast, California, Mexico, Florida and all four major
islands in Hawaii.
The carrier currently offers 36 nonstop destinations from
San Diego, which remains the most of any airline serving the airport. The new
flights will depart California in mid-morning and arrive in Atlanta in the late
afternoon, with the flight returning to San Diego in the early evening.
“We want to provide our guests in San Diego the most nonstop
options,” Alaska Airlines Vice President Kirsten Amrine said. “Not only are San
Diego and Atlanta popular destinations for leisure travelers, but both are also
major business hubs.”
“We're excited to connect the cities, especially since
Atlanta is our largest unserved transcontinental market from San Diego,” Amrine
continued.
First Class and Premium Class passengers can enjoy early
boarding, complimentary hot meals and free cocktails, wines and beers. Alaska
also offers satellite Wi-Fi, power outlets at every seat and the option to
pre-order from a range of fresh meal selections.
In July, Alaska expanded its Latin America service to
include daily year-round service from Los Angeles to Guatemala. In addition, flights from both San Diego and
Chicago O’Hare to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo have been added to increase seasonal
leisure routes for winter travel, beginning in December.
The carrier also revealed plans for new
nonstop service between Seattle/Everett and Honolulu starting this fall. The
new flights will connect Paine Field-Snohomish County Airport and the Hawaiian
Islands, with daily, year-round service beginning ahead of the holidays on
November 17.
