Budget travelers in the Upper Midwest will soon have new access to affordable flights to the Sunshine State.
Low-cost carrier Allegiant has just announced two nonstop routes from Michigan’s Flint Bishop International Airport (FNT) to popular destinations in Florida.
As part of its budget business model, the airline focuses on connecting smaller airports to domestic leisure markets.
The new year-round routes will launch in late winter 2027, connecting the small Michigan city to some of the most in-demand destinations during the colder months.
On February 10, 2027, Allegiant will begin service from Flint to Orlando International Airport (MCO).
On February 11, 2027, the carrier will add nonstop flights from Flint to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers.
"This is tremendous news for Flint Bishop Airport and travelers throughout Mid-Michigan," said Nino Sapone, CEO of Flint Bishop International Airport. “Adding year-round service to Orlando and Fort Myers gives our passengers even more choices and flexibility when traveling to Florida."
The carrier is also adding additional frequency on existing routes from Flint to Florida, including new thrice-weekly service to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ). Starting on February 10, flights will operate every Wednesday, Friday, and Monday.
On February 11, 2027, the carrier will add more frequencies to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE), with flights operating three times per week every Thursday, Sunday, and Tuesday.
Special introductory fares on both routes are currently as cheap as $69 one way. To score the cheapest tickets, travelers should purchase their fares by September 2, 2026.
