Traveling to regional airports in the Midwest and Southern United States is about to get a little easier this fall.

Budget carrier Allegiant is launching five new nonstop routes that will provide the only nonstop service between a handful of smaller airports. The leisure carrier operates a network of nonstop, point-to-point flights that make air travel simple for fliers heading out on vacation.

"This expansion caters to passengers and communities we feel have been overlooked by other carriers," said Drew Wells, Allegiant's chief commercial officer. "Allegiant's unique business model, connecting small-to-medium sized cities to vacation destinations, creates accessible travel options not otherwise available in what we believe are underserved markets. We know travelers enjoy the convenience of nonstop flights departing from their neighborhood airport."

The new routes will allow travelers in the Midwest to access beach vacation destinations, including Key West, Fort Lauderdale, and Gulf Shores.

The first of the new routes to launch will be service from Indiana’s South Bend International Airport (SBN) to Florida’s Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) starting August 29. Introductory fares start at $59 one way.

Allegiant will also launch two routes from Tennessee’s McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) outside of Knoxville. On September 4, the carrier will start nonstop service to Memphis International Airport (MEM), with fares starting at $39 one way. Then on October 3, the airline will begin flights to Florida’s Key West International Airport (EYW), with one-way fares as low as $49.

The third vacation market that Allegiant is adding new routes to this fall is Gulf Shores, Alabama. The carrier will launch flights to Gulf Shores International Airport (GUF) from Wisconsin’s Appleton International Airport (ATW) on October 2, followed by a new route to GUF from Iowa’s Des Moines International Airport (DSM) on October 3. One-way fares on both GUF-bound routes start at $59.

To score the cheapest introductory fares on any of the new routes, travelers must book by May 21, 2025, for travel by February 9, 2026.

Aside from the new routes, Allegiant also announced that it would add three special flights to Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) this fall to coincide with professional football games happening in Sin City. Those special, one-off routes include flights from Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) for the Bears vs. the Raiders, with flights departing MDW on September 26 and returning on September 29; from Nashville International Airport (BNA) for the Titans vs. the Raiders, with flights departing BNA on October 10 and returning October 13; and from Ohio’s Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) for the Browns vs. the Raiders, with flights departing CAK November 21 and returning November 24.
