Travelers in the United States will soon have more convenient flight options to Taiwan, thanks to American Airlines’ latest partnership.
American has announced a new codeshare agreement with Taiwan-based carrier Starlux Airlines.
The new partnership allows travelers to book Starlux-operated flights to Taipei from the Western U.S. while earning AAdvantage miles and Loyalty Points.
The carriers said that additional travel benefits, like the ability to redeem miles for flights on both airlines, will likely come in the near future.
Starlux is known for its boutique, luxury cabins, especially its plush business class seats and upscale premium economy class on its long-haul flights. It was recently named as one of the 20 best airlines in the world in 2026 by Skytrax.
The carrier serves five U.S. gateways from Taipei, including Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA), Phoenix (PHX), and Ontario, California (ONT).
Under the agreement, American will place its code on Starlux-operated flights to Taipei (TPE) from all five of Starlux’s U.S. airports, with regulatory approval still pending for the route from Phoenix.
“Taipei remains a top destination for global business, visiting friends and family and leisure travel, and together with STARLUX Airlines, we’re partnering to provide new travel options,” said American’s Senior Vice President of Alliances Anmol Bhargava. “This collaboration strengthens our global network and unlocks new competitive itineraries.”
Select flights are already available to book under the agreement for travel starting on September 30.
