Frontier Airlines Combines Free Bags With $39 Fares

Low-fare air carrier Frontier Airlines is offering a new promotion offering a free checked bag on flights for the spring and summer, as well as fares as low as $39. 

Travelers can book a flight through April 7 using the code FREEBAG for all flights departing April 22 through August 18 to receive a free checked bag. Many routes during this period also offer promotional fares, with some as low as $39. 

Travelers can book via Frontier’s app or online. Frontier first announced it would be offering more ways to enjoy free checked bags following Southwest's announcement that it would start charging for checked bags. 

“We are excited to offer even bigger savings on America’s Greenest Airline,” said Jeff Werkheiser, senior director of brand and customer engagement, Frontier Airlines. “Ultra-low fares and a free checked bag means exceptional value for consumers planning to visit family and friends or enjoy a getaway this spring and summer.” 

Frontier’s “The New Frontier” customer service offerings include new seat categories with more room, free, unlimited companion travel for loyalty members and more.
