Frontier Airlines reported record third-quarter revenue of
an estimated $1.4 billion, up 53% year over year, as strong travel demand
helped the low-cost carrier offset higher fuel prices.
According to Frontier, revenue growth reflected continued
improvements to commercial strategy and revenue management initiatives, as
revenue per available seat mile increased 30% to 11.87 cents compared with the
third quarter of 2025.
Frontier reported adjusted net income of $40 million, which
exceeded its previous guidance despite fuel costs averaging $3.96 per gallon.
The airline’s fuel expenses totaled $425 million during the quarter, up around
$150 million from the same period last year.
“Frontier's revenue execution in a higher-than-expected fuel
environment resulted in an adjusted profit, meaningfully above the company's
guidance and Wall Street estimates,” Frontier CEO Jimmy Dempsey said. “These
results reflect the successful progression of the company's strategic
initiatives set out earlier this year, and it gives us confidence in our
ability to translate our momentum into sustainable profitability.”
The carrier’s total operating expenses reached an estimated
$1.3 billion on an adjusted basis, and ended the quarter with $1.18 billion in
total liquidity, providing additional financial flexibility as it continues to
manage costs.
Looking ahead, the airline expects capacity to increase 5%
to 6% year over year in the fourth quarter and revenue per available seat mile
to rise more than 20% compared with the same period in 2025.
