Travelers in the Midwest will soon have a new connection to the “Land of Fire and Ice.”
Icelandair has announced plans to launch a new nonstop route from St. Louis (STL) to Reykjavik (KEF) next spring.
Flights are expected to begin on May 14, 2027, according to local news outlet KSDK.
The route will operate four flights per week, and fares are already on sale on Icelandair’s booking site.
Roundtrip tickets for the 6.5-hour flight start at about $500.
The Reykjavik-bound route is the second notable nonstop transatlantic flight launch in the midsized city of St. Louis.
In April 2026, British Airways launched a nonstop route from STL to London Heathrow (LHR).
That route performed so well that the carrier recently announced it would increase frequencies on the seasonal route to include a daily flight during the summer 2027 season.
