Budget carrier JetBlue has just unveiled its first-ever domestic first class cabin.

The new onboard space, called BlueFirst, is set to launch later in 2026 with luxe features like unique plush seats, spacious legroom, and custom cocktails.

JetBlue first announced the initiative to add a first class cabin to its domestic fleet last year amid a surge in demand for premium airline products that hasn’t cooled off.

“Customers are increasingly looking for more premium experiences, and BlueFirst gives them an elevated experience that feels distinctly JetBlue, with thoughtful touches, caring service and great value,” said the airline’s CEO Joanna Geraghty. “It’s another way we’re bringing our JetForward strategy to life and giving customers more reasons to choose JetBlue.”

Stepping into the cabin, travelers will find seats in a 2-2 configuration with roomy dimensions. The first class rows offer seven additional inches of legroom and five extra inches of recline compared to economy class.

The seats are also specially designed with flex foam from mattress brand Tuft & Needle, which were crafted exclusively for the BlueFirst cabin. The unique foam seats “offer each customer personalized support and responsive pressure relief throughout the flight,” according to the airline.

Each spot will also have a 13.3-inch entertainment screen complete with Bluetooth capability, as well as USB-A and USB-C power ports. First class fliers can use the screen to order refreshed meal selections, like sweet or savory crepes or sesame noodles with beef or tofu.

A new service called “mixologist mode” allows travelers in the new cabin to use the screen to send a customized cocktail order directly to flight attendants by selecting their spirit, mixer, and additional flavorings.

Drinks will be served in Fable glassware with artist-designed coasters created in collaboration with New York-based illustrator Danielle Rose Fisher.

Passengers in first class will receive additional perks, including Group 1 boarding, dedicated overhead bin space, priority check-in, two free checked bags, and priority baggage delivery.

Fares in the new cabin are expected to go on sale later this fall.
