Passengers were forced into action aboard a Ryanair flight from Croatia to London when a man stormed the plane's exit door and tried to get out shortly before takeoff. In a video posted to the popular social media platform TikTok, the passenger can be seen heading for the exit while shouting "open the door."
That's when several other passengers stepped in, tackling the man to the ground before he was ultimately taken into custody by local police. The flight was returning from Zadar on Friday following the Hideout music festival on the island of Pag.
"This flight from Zadar to London Stansted returned to stand after an individual passenger became disruptive while preparing for take-off. The passenger was removed from the aircraft by local police before this flight continued safely to London Stansted," a Ryanair spokesperson told The Independent."This is now a matter for local police. We sincerely apologize to affected passengers for any inconvenience caused as a result of this passenger’s disruptive behavior."
The man is currently in custody on suspicion of assaulting an officer.
