Travelers passing through Oregon's Portland International Airport should consider themselves lucky.
According to a recent Travel + Leisure survey, PDX is once again the top domestic airport, beating out Tampa, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Dallas Love Field and Austin.
2015 marks the third consecutive year that PDX has earned the travel magazine's top honor, and earlier this year, PDX was also named America's happiest airport by a MissTravel.com survey.
Ironically, this summer's announcement comes amid an effort from PDX airport workers to organize a union with the goal being to raise wages and improve safety conditions, according to the Oregonian.
A number of different factors are used to rank the airports, including location and access; check-in and security; restaurant and food; shopping and design. The scores, which are indexed averages of readers' responses, are determined based on a questionnaire developed by Travel + Leisure editors that travelers were able to participate in from November 2014 to March 2015.
PDX's score of 79 would have ranked it fourth on the list of top international airports. Singapore Changi Airport was recognized as the top airport worldwide, finishing with an impressive score of 89.
Hong Kong International Airport, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Zurich Airport and Munich Airport rounded out the top five airports internationally.
Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards also comprise airlines, cruise ships, hotels and tour operators, among other categories.
