Avis Budget Group was one of the first vehicle rental companies to offer a loyalty program for travel professionals, and the company announced Wednesday that it would be switching from the name "Unlimited Budget" to "Unlimited Rewards" for the program.
According to a press release from Avis Budget Group, Unlimited Budget has been the company's plan since its inception in 1997, but constant upgrades and improvements have helped it become regarded as an innovator in the loyalty program market.
When asked about the name change, Avis Budget Group global travel and partnerships vice president, Tom Villani, commented via a press release:
"The loyalty program has always been about unlimited rewards for travel professionals-so from now on that's what we're calling it. We're excited to unveil the new name and new logo and offer agents the same dollar rewards. After all, our appreciation for their hard work continues to be...unlimited."
To earn points from the new Unlimited Rewards program, members must rent from the Avis and Budget brands for business and leisure car rental anywhere in North America. Participants are given an Unlimited Rewards prepaid debit card that can be used anywhere the card is accepted.
For frequent business travelers looking to sign up, Unlimited Rewards is free of charge and open to residents of the United States and Canada. Members can also earn rewards for staying at approved Hilton brand hotels, including:
•Hilton Hotels & Resorts
•Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts
•Conrad Hotels & Resorts
•Canopy by Hilton
•Curio - A Collection by Hilton
•DoubleTree by Hilton
•Embassy Suites
•Hilton Garden Inn
•Hampton
