The world's largest car rental company, Enterprise Holdings, announced Monday that it will open 12 new locations in the Houston, Texas area by the end of 2017 to meet increased demand.
To help fill the new locations with employees, Enterprise announced the company will hire more than 200 college graduates into its Management Training program in Houston this year.
Enterprise already has more than 185 branch locations in its Houston subsidiary, but it also boasts nearly 39 percent of the market share at George Bush Intercontinental Airport and over 40 percent at William P. Hobby Airport.
"The Enterprise business model was built on access to affordable transportation," Enterprise Holdings Vice President and General Manager Karl Koch said in a statement. "When other car rental companies focused on the airports, we focused on opening locations in local communities."

In total, Enterprise Holdings contributed nearly $200 million to Houston's economy last year.
Enterprise Holdings and its regional subsidiaries and franchises operate the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands at more than 9,600 fully staffed airport and neighborhood offices worldwide.
With an increased demand in Houston for affordable local transportation solutions, Enterprise's continued growth in the region is yet another sign of the car rental company's expansion.
