Frontier
Airlines is expanding its network in the Western U.S. with two new routes
launching later this summer.
The low-cost
airline announced new nonstop service connecting Las
Vegas' Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) with both Oakland San
Francisco Bay Airport (OAK) and Idaho’s Boise Airport (BOI), beginning in
August and September, respectively.
The biggest news
for Bay Area travelers is Frontier's return to Oakland, California. Beginning
August 20, the carrier will operate flights between Oakland and Las Vegas 11
times per week, giving travelers an affordable option for quick getaways to Sin
City. Meanwhile, Boise travelers will gain new nonstop access to Las Vegas
starting September 10. The route will operate four times weekly in both
directions.
To mark the
occasion, Frontier is offering introductory one-way fares starting at $49. But, those looking
to take advantage of this offer will need to act quickly, as the promotional
pricing is only available for bookings made by June 16, with eligible travel
dates running through November 19, 2026. Certain blackout dates and
restrictions apply, and ticket purchase is required at least 21 days in advance of travel.
“We are delighted
to announce these new routes and our return to OAK, offering high-value travel
options to Nevada, Idaho, and California,”
said Josh Flyr, vice president of network and operations design, Frontier
Airlines. “We are laser-focused on redefining what consumers can expect from
low-fare travel — from our expansive network map to the premium upgrades we
offer — and we look forward to providing consumers with affordable flight
options on these new routes starting this summer.”
The announcement
comes as Frontier continues rolling out enhancements under its "The New
Frontier" initiative, an effort aimed at improving both its products and
customer service while maintaining the airline's budget-friendly pricing model.
Among the recent
additions is UpFront Plus seating, which provides extra personal space in the
first two rows of the aircraft, including additional leg and elbow room and a
guaranteed empty middle seat. The airline has also introduced unlimited
companion travel for its most loyal customers, with the flexibility of
selecting a different companion on every flight. What’s more, Frontier plans to
debut a new First Class cabin product later this year, combining the ultimate
in onboard space and comfort with the carrier’s signature affordable pricing.
Frontier is also
continuing to invest in its industry-leading Frontier Miles loyalty program. Members
earn rewards based on how much they spend with the airline, with mileage
earnings starting at 10 miles per dollar and increasing for travelers who
achieve higher elite status levels. Customers can qualify for elite status with
as few as 10,000 points, unlocking perks that may include priority boarding,
seat selection and complimentary checked bags. The program also offers a
family-friendly feature that allows eligible members to pool miles, making it
easier to earn and redeem rewards together.
