WHY IT RATES: Rail Europe has integrated Renfe seat reservations for Eurail/Interrail passholders, enabling easier travel across Spain on all its channels, enhancing convenience and expanding travel options.
Rail Europe announced a major enhancement to its offer: seat reservations on Renfe’s long- and medium-distance trains for customers travelling with Eurail / Interrail Global Passes are now available on all Rail Europe’s channels, making travel across Spain easier than ever before.
This latest addition strengthens Rail Europe’s commitment to seamless European train travel, ensuring Eurail / Interrail passholders can explore Spain’s renowned rail network with the same convenience they enjoy across other top destinations. Since 2023, Rail Europe has provided passholder fares for SNCF, Lyria, Eurostar, Trenitalia, and RhB. The inclusion of Renfe now enriches this service, offering access to high-speed AVE, Alvia, and Euromed services, as well as Intercity trains and international connections with Spain and France. Media Distancia routes will soon be available, further expanding options for travellers.
With this extension, customers holding either a Eurail or Interrail Global Pass can easily determine if a seat reservation is required for the journey, view the associated costs, and make a reservation online — eliminating the need for long queues at the station and ensuring a stress-free travel experience.

Marseille → Madrid (international AVE)
