Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, renting a car is one of the best-and easiest-ways to get around.
However, that doesn't mean this type of travel is hassle-free. Business travel especially can be stressful and not all that fun.
Recently, Hertz surveyed its frequent customers to learn their top business travel preferences and pet peeves. The study uncovered these tidbits, among others:
-88 percent of Hertz business travelers prefer rental cars as their mode of transportation for business trips of 3+ days over using a ride-sharing service (7 percent), public transportation (3 percent) or a taxi (2 percent).
-An uncomfortable airline seat (27 percent) and long lines (26 percent) were the top two biggest annoyances of business travel for those surveyed, followed by loud hotel neighbors (15 percent), according to Hertz renters.
-The least desired type of coworker to travel with according to Hertz renters is "the know-it-all" (40 percent) followed by "the chatterbox" (29 percent), "the drinker" (19 percent), "the boss" (10 percent) and "the rookie" or new employee (2 percent).
While business travel, in particular, can be tricky to navigate, Hertz recently rolled out a new giveaway to reward its most loyal customers.The Great Gold Giveaway gives Hertz loyalty members the chance to win one million Gold Plus Rewards® points, which can be redeemed for up to four years' worth of free rental days.
Here's how the contest works:
Through December 31, 2017, each rental you make gives you one automatic entry into the member-only Great Gold Giveaway Sweepstakes and a chance to win the one million rewards points. You must belong to Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® to qualify for the promotion.
"Hertz Gold Plus Rewards members represent some of our most dedicated and valued customers-many of whom travel often for business," says Eric Smuda, Hertz vice president of Loyalty and Customer Experience in a press release.
"Offering the chance to win 1 million points, plus hundreds of other great prizes is just one way we want to thank them for their business. It also serves as the perfect opportunity for frequent travelers to make the most of their trips because they can receive an entry each and every time they rent."
