In celebration of Japanese railway company Seibu Holdings' 100th anniversary, the company asked Japanese architect Kazuyo Sejima to design an "invisible" train, Fox News reported.

Known for using shiny surfaces, such as glass and different metals in her designs, Sejima used hyper-reflective materials on the new train, making it appear to blend into its surroundings, Fox said.

The architect has also used reflective materials on buildings, including Le Louvre Lens Museum in France, according to Fox.

"The limited express travels in a variety of different sceneries, from the mountains of Chichibu to the middle of Tokyo," Sejima said in a press release obtained by Fox News. "And I thought it would be good if the train could gently co-exist with this variety of scenery."

The train is expected to make its debut in 2018 near Tokyo, Fox reported.

"I also would like it to be a limited express, where large numbers of people can all relax in comfort, in their own way, like a living room, so that they think to themselves, 'I look forward to riding that train again,'" Sejima said in the release.
