Cruises in the Caribbean almost always include options for those who love to play in the water. From scuba diving and snorkeling to kayaking, paddle boarding and beach swimming, there is something for everyone.
But what if there were cruise ships designed to give you more splash time when you cruise?
If "Caribbean" is synonymous with water sports in your dictionary, the yachts of Windstar cruises can get you there and get you wet-really wet. Every. Single. Day. (You know you have chosen wisely when one of the first things listed on the Day 1 schedule is to get outfitted with your snorkel gear.)
Ports of Call
It all starts with itineraries to locales known for pristine beaches and reefs full of marine life. Windstar's version of the Caribbean is about places that are unreachable by larger cruise ships.
In St. Lucia, for example, the Wind Star sailing yacht anchors off the far northern tip of Pigeon Island, far from the busy cruise ship port in Castries. The ship's lifeboats act as your tenders to a small dock at the Pigeon Island National Park beachfront where you can spend the day in the sand and surf.
In St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the ship anchors in the famed Tobago Cays where you can spend your time at the beach via the ship's Zodiac inflatable boats or book a catamaran snorkeling tour that will take you to the best spots for fish and turtle watching as you drift along on the surface.
All that fun in the surf is not limited to the Caribbean-Windstar is known for diving, snorkeling, and water sports in the South Pacific and the Mediterranean as well.
