Windstar Cruises offers an intimate sailing experience through the Greek islands onboard Wind Spirit, a 148-guest sailing yacht commissioned in 1984 that helped pioneer a new style of cruising built around real working sails and a private yacht atmosphere.
Guests typically embark from Athens, where the Acropolis serves as a constant backdrop across the city. First inhabited 5,000 years ago, the ancient site anchors Athens both historically and visually before passengers set sail.

Wind Spirit carries approximately 130 cabins and features six working sails, raised at the start of each voyage to the music of Vangelis. The ship includes teak decks, oceanview staterooms, an Owner's Suite, a pool and bar, a hot tub, a water-access marina and the World Spa by Windstar. Dining is open seating and complimentary across three venues: Amphora, Veranda and the specialty restaurant Candles.

Ports of call on the Greece itinerary include Mykonos, where guests can take a ferry excursion to the UNESCO-listed island of Delos, birthplace of Apollo. The ship also stops at Kusadasi, Turkey, gateway to the ancient ruins of Ephesus. Select voyages include Windstar's exclusive Destination Discovery event—a five-course, white-glove dinner under the stars in the courtyard of the ancient Celsus Library, accompanied by musicians from the Aegean Chamber Orchestra.
Santorini brings a dramatic sail into the volcanic caldera below the hilltop town of Fira, with excursions available, including a four-hour catamaran tour of the caldera. The itinerary concludes in Nafplio, a seaside town on the Peloponnese featuring a medieval old town, neoclassical architecture and proximity to the UNESCO sites of Epidaurus and Mycenae.
Wind Spirit sails Mediterranean itineraries throughout the season.
