Overcoming a bit of a downturn in the region amid terrorist scares and encouraging us to all stay calm and carry on, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) experts and agents have weighed in on the current state of European cruising to present a list of reasons why taking an ocean or river cruise vacation there is currently a great idea.
"There has never been a better time for travelers to take advantage of the European travel deals and the far-reaching dollar to cross international destinations off of their bucket lists. A European cruise is the perfect way to do so," said Drew Daly, General Manager of Network Engagement & Performance, CruiseOne/Dream Vacations.
Far-Reaching Dollar
Do you like to shop and wine and dine while ashore? Well, the U.S. dollar is converting in Europe more favorably than before, so it's also a perfect opportunity to spend some cash while touring the many ports of call along the exterior ocean coastlines and interior river waterways.
Upcoming Events
Destinations may start to get busier again as special events start to arise in Europe, but each occasion is a wonderful chance to see some traditional festivities. Now through November, for instance, Octoberfest is booming, with the largest Volksfest in Munich, Germany, and the Christmas markets season (pictured above) is also festive from late November in the likes of Nuremberg. Another great experience to enjoy is also the Brussels Light Festival.
