Last October, a Florida couple was shocked to discover a hidden camera in their bedroom on a Carnival Cruise.
Inside Edition interviewed Chris and Dana White about their experience, and suffice it to say, the couple is not happy.
The Whites were aboard the Carnival Fantasy on a three-day Caribbean cruise to Mexico last October when they discovered a hidden camera placed among the TV wires in their room.
"I said, 'Is that what I think it is?'" Chris told Inside Edition. "And [Dana] looked at it and she became concerned. And we were just really flabbergasted that there's a camera in the room and it's plugged up and it's working."
The couple called security and filmed the employee who took the recording device apart.
Chris said, "I was thinking, 'I can't believe this is actually happening to us.”
The couple says they are speaking out now because they aren’t satisfied with how Carnival Cruises handled the situation. The couple says that initially, a representative of Carnival Cruises said the device wasn’t a camera.
"It was a camera," Chris said. Dana added, “It was wired up. It was working. It was warm to the touch. I just immediately felt like we had been invaded; our privacy had been invaded."
Carnival gave a statement to Inside Edition claiming that they conducted a full investigation and do admit that a “video transmitter” was discovered in the couple’s room.
They added that they gave the device to the FBI for a further inspection after conducting their own investigation, but ultimately the company said that the hidden camera was “not connected to an electrical source and not capable of recording.”
“The safety and security of our guests and crew is of paramount importance and we have taken measures so that this sort of situation does not happen again," the Carnival Cruise statement read.
Regardless, Chris and Dana White refuse to step on another Carnival Cruise again.
