World-renowned champion of ocean conservation and environmental protection, Jean-Michel Cousteau, will lead two Aqua Expeditions journeys in Peru.
The new itineraries will take travelers along the Peruvian Amazon with the son of legendary ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau.
Jean-Michel Cousteau, who has become a passionate environmental advocate in his own right, founded the Ocean Futures Society in 1999 to continue spreading the word about the importance of ocean conservation and educating people about our critical relationship with the environment.
He's also an award-winning producer of more than 80 films who has been recognized internationally with numerous prestigious awards.
While traveling with Aqua Expeditions and Cousteau in Peru, participants will be able to experience the Amazon from the perspective of a conservationist, learning first-hand what makes the region so precious.
The small group trips are also designed to allow travelers to get to know Cousteau. Each voyage will include evening talks and Q&A sessions with him as well as screenings of his films. There will also be opportunities to receive valuable video storytelling tips from the award-winning producer.
Twice-daily excursions meanwhile, will include such highlights as visits to an indigenous Amazon community, trips deep into the jungle in search of rare wildlife specific to the region and explorations of local fresh markets. There will also be a visit to a Manatee Rescue Center in Iquitos, which rescues and rehabilitates orphaned Amazon manatees.

Dates for the exclusive Peru departures with Jean-Michel Cousteau are October 5-12, 2018 (seven nights); October 5-8 2018 (three nights), and October 8-12, 2018 (four nights). Prices start at $4,350.
