Bookings are now open for Margaritaville at Sea’s 2028 schedule, which includes 30 itineraries visiting 25 destinations from two homeports.
The cruise line will introduce two new ports of call in 2028: Limón, Costa Rica, and Colón, Panama. Both destinations will be included on new eight-night sailings aboard Islander from Tampa, which will also visit Grand Cayman and include four sea days.
Limón provides access to Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast and rainforest, while Colón serves as a gateway to Panama and the Panama Canal.
The new destinations join a lineup that includes returning ports such as Key West, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Belize, Roatán, Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, Bimini, Nassau and Progreso.
“We’ve built our 2028 lineup around the idea that no two escapes have to look the same,” says Christopher Ivy, chief executive officer of Margaritaville at Sea. “Whether guests want to discover a place they’ve never been, celebrate a holiday at sea, enjoy great music or simply spend a few days somewhere warmer, this schedule gives them more choices and plenty of reasons to come back and experience something different.”
Among the new and returning specialty sailings is “Laissez les Bons Temps Rouler: Mardi Gras Returns.” Following its first Mardi Gras visit in 2027, Islander will return to New Orleans for the 2028 celebration, with an overnight stay in the city before returning to Tampa.
The cruise line’s “Sail the Haunted Seas” Halloween voyage will also return for a third year with a new itinerary. The sailing from Tampa will include an overnight stay in New Orleans, followed by a visit to Progreso, Mexico, for Día de los Muertos celebrations. The voyage will also include three full days at sea.
Another new option from Tampa is a sailing that visits all three ABC islands—Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao—on a single voyage. Margaritaville at Sea says it will be the only cruise from Tampa visiting all three islands on the same itinerary in 2028.
From Galveston, Beachcomber will offer new itinerary combinations, including a Mexico sailing that visits Cozumel, Progreso and Veracruz.
Beachcomber is scheduled to debut from PortMiami in 2027 before moving to Galveston. The ship has more than 15 venues that are new to the brand, including Same Boat, a live music venue developed with three-time GRAMMY Award winner Zac Brown.
Islander, meanwhile, will sail from Tampa Bay with longer Caribbean and Mexico voyages, including itineraries reaching into the Southern Caribbean and Central America.
The 2028 schedule will also include special sailings tied to holidays and events. Islander will operate a five-night Key West and Bimini cruise departing June 25, 2028, timed around International Parrothead Day on June 28. Other holiday-themed sailings will coincide with St. Patrick’s Day, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day and the Fourth of July.
Margaritaville at Sea also plans to add more music-focused specialty cruises featuring chart-topping artists and exclusive onboard performances. The cruise line says additional details and artist announcements will be released later.
