Oceania Cruises' sixth ship, the 684-passenger Sirena, will debut in the Mediterranean April 27, 2016, with a 14-night Barcelona-to-Venice maiden voyage.

That's among the highlights of Oceania's just-announced 2016 summer and fall program. The voyage collection also features 50 extended journeys of 40 to 90 nights and visits to 20 maiden ports of call.

Currently operating as Ocean Princess, Sirena is a sister ship to Oceania's original trio - Insignia, Regatta and Nautica. The ships were built from 1998 to 2001 as part of the R-Class for now-defunct Renaissance Cruises. Oceania also operates two newer, purpose-built ships, the 1,250-guest Marina and Riviera.

The Ocean Princess will undergo a 35-day, $40 million refurbishment in March 2016 before joining the Oceania fleet as Sirena. It will get specialty restaurants Toscana and Polo Grill, as well as Baristas and the cook-to-order grill Terrace Café.

Sirena's inaugural season includes 10- to 14-day voyages throughout the Mediterranean, including two voyages venturing as far west as Seville and Lisbon. The ship will visit 11 new ports for Oceania, such as Gaeta, Italy; Golfito, Costa Rica; and La Paz, Mexico.

Oceania's seven new Grand Voyages range from a 40-night Vancouver-to-Montreal sailing to a 90-night round-trip from Miami to ports in North America, Greenland, the Mediterranean and Africa, including La Goulette, Tunisia, and Algiers, Algeria. The 40-night Grand Voyage from Vancouver to Montreal will visit ports on both coasts of North America including Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia, plus a Panama Canal crossing.

Maiden calls will be made to 20 ports during this summer and fall, including Alcudia (Mallorca), Spain; Piombino (Tuscany) and Triestre, Italy; Agadir, Morocco; Bandol, France; Catalina Island, Calif.; Crotone (Calabria), Italy; Gaspe and Havre-Saint-Pierre, Quebec; Helsingborg and Karlskrona, Sweden; Manzanillo, Mexico; Martha's Vineyard, Mass.; Porto Santo Stefano, Italy; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Skagen, Denmark; Vlissingen, Netherlands; and Akureyri, Iceland.

The 1,250-guest Marina will sail throughout Scandinavia, the Baltic and the British Isles, repositioning to South America with a 16-night Lisbon-to-Rio de Janeiro sailing on Nov. 21, 2016.

Riviera begins the season in the Mediterranean before moving to the Caribbean and Central America.

The Regatta will explore Alaska for the season before repositioning to the Northeast and Canada before moving further south, to the Amazon River, Central America and Mexico.

Insignia will operate the 90-night Grand Voyage from Miami before sailing throughout South America and the Caribbean. The Nautica will explore Northern Europe, the Mediterranean and Asia.
