Princess Cruises will have a massive new treehouse for guests to experience at its Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge in Alaska this summer. The custom-designed structure was constructed during an episode of Animal Planet's "Treehouse Masters" television show in association with the line's collaboration with Discovery Communications.
"At destinations around the globe, we strive to create a bond between our guests and the places we visit, and now more than ever, people are visiting Alaska to experience the beauty and adventure the state has to offer," said Lisa Syme, Princess Cruises vice president, in a press release.
"As the #1 cruise line in Alaska, we are eager to bring these fresh and engaging experiences to our Alaska cruisetour guests, providing opportunities for more travelers to connect with the people, nature, storied traditions and history of the Great Land in 2018."
As someone who has visited Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge on a pre-cruise land extension via train, I can attest to the property's magnificent views of North America's highest mountain-Denali. The treehouse is set to activate those vistas even further with additional sights and programming.
Also for a surcharge, Sappy Hour will provide daily participants with a sampling of birch syrups and a chance to learn more about Alaska's boreal forests, Birch and Spruce trees and other tree-inspired products.
Offered for free every day will be Trivia at the Treehouse to playfully quiz guests on The Great Land as hosted by a resident naturalist.
In 2018, Princess Cruises will have its largest-ever deployment in Alaska-seven ships in all-and the treehouse will be ready to delight guests ashore on the signature cruisetour experiences. They will also enjoy the line's award-winning North to Alaska program for onboard enrichment, entertainment and dining, plus Discovery Channel and Animal Planet-recommended and exclusive tours ashore.The latter two are part of Princess' Discovery at Sea partnership.
