Scenic Group, the parent company of Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises & Tours, has announced two key appointments to its U.S. and Latin America sales organization, welcoming Marilyn Cairo as Vice President of Sales & Trade Relations and Nicole Shrem as Key & National Accounts Manager. The appointments further strengthen the company’s commitment to the trade as Scenic Group continues its significant regional expansion across luxury river cruising, ocean cruising and yacht travel.
A highly respected travel industry executive, Cairo reports to Ken Muskat, President, Scenic Group (USA/LATAM) and brings more than three decades of sales leadership experience, having built high-performing organizations, driven transformational growth strategies and strengthened partnerships throughout the luxury travel and hospitality sector.
Most recently, Cairo served as Vice President of Sales for Classic Vacations, where she led the company’s national sales strategy across multiple distribution channels while deepening relationships with leading host agencies, consortia and travel advisors. Her leadership focused on modernizing sales operations, implementing strategic growth initiatives, and creating scalable sales programs that positioned the organization for long-term success.
Cairo has led national sales organizations with expertise spanning sales strategy, organizational leadership, business development and travel advisor engagement. She has consistently delivered measurable business growth by identifying new market opportunities, strengthening strategic partnerships, and aligning teams around clear commercial objectives.
Her career experience also includes executive leadership positions with some of the travel industry’s most recognized brands, including Sandals & Beaches Resorts, Karisma Hotels & Resorts, Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts and Margaritaville Island Reserve Resorts.
Joining Cairo as part of Scenic Group’s continued investment in its sales organization is Nicole Shrem, who has been appointed Key & National Accounts Manager for the U.S. and Latin America reporting to Kayla Corbett, Sr. Director, Key & National Accounts.
Shrem joins Scenic Group from Royal Caribbean International’s National Accounts department, where she served as an Account Executive working closely with key trade partners. Recognized for her performance and commitment to the travel advisor community, Shrem was named 2025 Account Executive of the Year. In her new role, she will focus on strengthening Scenic Group’s relationships with key and national account partners while supporting the continued growth of both Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises & Tours throughout the region.
“We are thrilled to welcome both Marilyn and Nicole to Scenic Group,” said Ken Muskat, President of Scenic Group USA and LATAM. “As we continue to grow our presence across the U.S. and Latin America, investing in exceptional sales talent and strengthening our relationships with the travel advisor community remain critical priorities. Marilyn brings tremendous leadership experience, commercial expertise and a proven ability to inspire high-performing teams, while Nicole brings valuable national account experience, strong trade relationships and an impressive track record of success. Together, they add significant strength to our sales organization and our ability to support our partners throughout the region.”
In her new role, Cairo will oversee Scenic Group’s U.S. and Latin American sales strategy, leading the company’s regional sales organization while expanding relationships with travel advisors, host agencies, consortia and strategic trade partners.
“I am incredibly excited to join Scenic Group at such an important moment for the company,” said Marilyn Cairo, Vice President of Sales & Trade Relations, Scenic Group USA & LATAM. “Scenic Group has built two remarkable brands, and what excites me most is the opportunity ahead of us. Travel advisors are at the heart of our business, and I have always believed that a brand's success is directly correlated with the success of its travel advisor partners. I look forward to working alongside the talented Scenic sales team, listening to our partners, and finding new ways to invest in building and strengthing relationships, and the opportunities that support mutual growth in business. With the largest expansion of new ships and destinations in Scenic Group’s 40-year history ahead of us, there could not be a more pivotal time to join the team and build what comes next together.”
