Seabourn will give travelers two chances to catch the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026: a sailing in Northern Europe, and another in the Mediterranean.
"The viewing of the solar eclipse from our ultra-luxury ships will be an unforgettable 'Seabourn Moment' for everyone on board," said Natalya Leahy, president of Seabourn. "Our team has curated a series of captivating, eclipse themed Seabourn Conversations and experiences, turning this celestial event into an extraordinary celebration for everyone on board."
Seabourn Ovation will sail a 14-day “West Ireland Gems & Solar Eclipse” itinerary that departs August 8, 2026, from Dover, England, and ends in Reykjavik, Iceland. The ship will visit destinations in Western Ireland, then position itself off the coast of Ireland for the eclipse. Jane A. Green, a fellow with the Royal Astronomical Society, will also educate guests about the skyward spectacle.
Seabourn Sojourn, meanwhile, will be sailing the 10-day “Spanish Gems & Solar Eclipse” itinerary round trip from Barcelona on August 7, 2026. The trip will take guests to Spanish Morocco, St. Tropez and ports along the coast of Spain. The ship will be in the Balearic Sea off the coast of Spain for the eclipse. Dallas Campbell, a science presenter, author and broadcaster, will share insights about the eclipse.
Bookings will open for both cruises, as well as the rest of the Europe 2026 season, on October 10.
