Luxury cruise line Silversea is offering a sneak peek at the interior spaces of its new 150-room hotel, The Cormorant at 55 South.
Located in Puerto Williams, Chile, the new hotel is now slated to open in October. It will serve as a cornerstone of Silversea’s Antarctica Fly Cruise program, which allows travelers to skip the Drake Passage.
The 150 guest rooms offer views of the forest or the Beagle Channel, with interiors that feature warm wood tones and earthy elements. Every room will also incorporate handcrafted items created by Chilean artisans.
These itineraries include a hotel stay in Santiago, followed by a direct charter flight to Puerto Williams. Guests then enjoy a one-night stay at The Cormorant before continuing to King George Island for embarkation. Upon return, guests again stay overnight at the hotel before flying back to Santiago. The hotel will operate seasonally from October to March.
Once they arrive at the hotel, guests can enjoy an array of cozy spaces. The Fireplace Lounge will offer plush seating, fine wines, signature cocktails and expansive windows offering views of the Patagonian landscape. Latitude 55—named for its location near the 55th parallel south—is the hotel’s on-site restaurant offering regional staples and chef-inspired creations.
Bar Sur will offer teas and small bites by day and curated wines and spirits by night. Guests can also shop for artisanal keepsakes and souvenirs at the on-site boutique, Uncharted.
