U by Uniworld, an upstart river cruise operation designed primarily for millennial travelers age 21 to 45, is opening the ships to passengers of all ages.
“Due to consumer demand, U by Uniworld has expanded its soon-to-launch river cruise experience to all adult travelers seeking an immersive experience along the world’s most popular rivers,” the company said in a statement. “Originally, U was very specific in defining its target market, but has learned that the experience is less about a number and more about attracting a new generation of adult travelers to river cruising."
"U by Uniworld will remain the same with sexy, stylish ships and itineraries that focus on longer stays in a destination, allowing guests to connect with local people, experiences and each city’s vibrant nightlife. The brand has no plans to change the product or the way it’s communicated in the marketplace.”
U by Uniworld is an offshoot of the luxury Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection.
While sneak peeks of the sleek, black ship have been seen in media presentations and an appearance on ABC’s “The Bachelor,” the official launch will take place as planned in April.
The 120-passenger ships are named The A and The B and will sail itineraries that include Amsterdam, Paris, and Budapest.
The A and The B ships feature a contemporary look and feel in all public spaces and guest areas. Communal dining tables will complement a local fare and street food-inspired culinary program, with creative mixologists and international DJ’s onboard.
