An apparent
late-night case of the munchies led to a brawl on a cruise ship.
A fight recently
broke out on the last day of a Carnival Cruise Line Paradise journey.
But the
large fight was no paradise.
The
incident happened at 3 a.m. in the buffet area. Video footage taken by a
passenger who was not involved in the brawl shows a fight in which haymakers
were thrown and chairs were tossed. The uninvolved passenger said he thought
about 10 to 15 other passengers were involved in the fight and they were “talking trash to each other.”
“Carnival
Paradise’s security team intervened in an incident that took place on June 6,”
spokesperson Matt Lupoli said in an emailed statement. “As is our policy, we
will not tolerate such behavior and the guests involved were fined and will not
sail on Carnival Cruise Line again.”
The
passenger who shot the video said it was an isolated incident. However, physical
confrontation on cruise ships and
airplanes are, sadly, common.
Back in 2022, video showed a brawl broke out on a Carnival cruise, which later prompted Carnival to announce it would begin to impose fines on unruly passengers. The cruise line has been cracking down on bad behavior onboard.
