Virgin Voyages has welcomed its two-millionth passenger, marking the milestone with a surprise celebration for a longtime guest aboard Resilient Lady in Miami.
Jason, a seven-time Virgin Voyages passenger from Leland, North Carolina, arrived at Terminal V with his wife, Patricia, expecting an ordinary sailing. Instead, the couple was greeted by the cruise line's Happenings Cast and a celebration featuring music, confetti and an oversized red envelope declaring Jason “One in Two Million.”
Inside was a collection of Virgin Voyages experiences, including a suite upgrade, a Key West excursion, a cabana at the Beach Club at Bimini, a choice between a tattoo at Squid Ink and a treatment at Redemption Spa, a letter from Virgin Group founder Richard Branson and an invitation to the cruise line's Sisters at Sea fleetwide meetup in February 2027. Jason also received an upgrade to a Tom Dixon-designed Gorgeous Suite, along with a bottle of Moët.
The grand prize was a trip for two to London, including premium round-trip flights to London Heathrow on Virgin Atlantic and a three-night stay at Virgin Hotels London Shoreditch.
The milestone comes just over five years after Virgin Voyages began sailing in 2021. The adults-only cruise line started with four- and five-night itineraries from Miami and has since expanded to a four-ship fleet with a global presence.
Virgin Voyages also used the two-million-passenger milestone to announce extensions to some of its loyalty benefits.
The cruise line is extending its Sailing Club benefits, including Blue Extras and Deep Blue Extras, through December 31, 2028. The benefits are available to eligible passengers who sail with Virgin Voyages.
The cruise line is also bringing back its Status Match program, which allows travelers to submit eligible loyalty status from more than 35 airline, hotel and cruise loyalty programs for consideration.
Travelers can submit their status for review between September 24 and October 31. Once approved, they have until October 31, 2026, to book a Virgin Voyages sailing.
Virgin Voyages also recognized the travel advisors who have helped drive bookings for the cruise line. As part of the celebration, Florida-based travel advisor Nereida will receive a collection of Virgin Voyages experiences, including a Key West excursion, a behind-the-scenes tour, a Redemption Spa treatment or Squid Ink credit, a Supper Club Series dinner show, a $200 Bar Tab, a cabana at Bimini's Grove, a letter from Branson and an invitation to Sisters at Sea.
Virgin Voyages says the two-million milestone represents the cumulative number of times travelers have chosen the cruise line since its launch, as well as the growth of the brand and its network of travel advisors.
