Adults-only cruise line Virgin Voyages announced a partnership with iHeartMedia to launch “On Air at Sea,” a new specialty sailing collection offering that turns a typical Virgin Voyages cruise into an immersive experience for podcast franchises and their fans.
The first sailing, which departs October 2, 2026 onboard a 4-night voyage from New York to Bermuda on the Valiant Lady is called “Stuff at Sea,” and features the hit podcast, Stuff You Should Know, Stuff They Don’t Want You to Know and Stuff Mom Never Told You. Advisors can book the itineraries for their clients on FirstMates.
Hosted by the original podcasters, the sailing will feature live podcast recordings, meet-and-greets with the hosts, hosted excursions, themed onboard activities and more.
"On Air at Sea gives advisors something rare: a genuine reason to pick up the phone and start a conversation with a client who has never considered Virgin Voyages before,” said Stephen Hopkins, Senior Vice President of Growth, Virgin Voyages. “The podcast brings them in. Virgin Voyages keeps them coming back.”
Advisors are advised to share this new cruise collection with their clients. Those who listen to podcasts are primarily high-income, highly educated adults, who have the potential to become high-value travelers.
On Air at Sea is expected to continue to grow with itineraries featuring popular podcasts around the true crime, wellness, music and comedy genres.
