Germany has the largest economy in Europe and is one of its top tourist destinations due to its rich history, world-famous cuisine, breathtaking scenery, and fascinating culture, among many other things that attract travelers from across the globe.

Here are six places you should check out during your stay in Deutschland.

6. The Fernsehturm

Completed in 1969 during communist rule, the Fernsehturm is one of Germany's most fascinating monuments and a staple of Berlin due to its massive size and unique space-age architecture. Inside, travelers can take pictures and enjoy a stunning view of the city below while enjoying a meal at the restaurant at the top.

5. The Charlottenburg Palace

The Charlottenburg Palace or "Schloss Charlottenburg" is a stunning preserved Baroque Palace in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district of Berlin that looks like something straight out of a period piece film or fairytale. Visitors to the palace can tour the grounds on a guided tour, take photos, and even see Baroque period-inspired concerts.

4. The Bavarian Alps

The Bavarian Alps are a vast mountain range located at the bottom of the German state of Bavaria. They are a destination that has become synonymous with Germany worldwide due to their gigantic size and stunning natural beauty. The mountains are also home to numerous picturesque towns and ski resorts.

3. The City of Wiesbaden

Located near Frankfurt and often overlooked, Wiesbaden is one of Germany's most underrated, historically important cities, owing to its preserved architecture because of how little the town saw of World War 2. Besides its stunning design, Wiesbaden is also known for its numerous hot springs, which gave the city its name, "Meadow Baths."

2. Neuschwanstein Castle

Constructed in 1886 and situated in the aforementioned Bavarian Alps, The Neuschwanstein Castle, or Schloss Neuschwanstein, is well known internationally as one of the symbols of the era of romanticism and has been featured in numerous films and other media. The castle, combined with the scenery surrounding it, appears to be something almost from a storybook, and due to how appealing it is, it is often regarded as one of Germany's most popular tourist destinations, attracting over one million visitors annually.

1. The Regensburg Sausage Kitchen

The Regensburg Sausage Kitchen, also known as "Historische Wurstküche zu Regensburg," is a restaurant located in the city of Regensburg that is often considered to be the oldest continuously operating restaurant in the world because it has been open since the 1100s. Besides its history, visiting guests can enjoy classic German fare of sausages, sauerkraut, saure zipfel, sauerbraten and classic German beer.
