Legoland California announced Thursday that the amusement park would be adding a new section and ride dedicated to the popular Lego brand Ninjago.
Starting in 2016, guests at Legoland California will be able to visit Ninjago land, which will feature Ninjago - The Ride. Visitors will enter the new Ninjago land through a giant archway behind Imagination Zone, and will be led into a courtyard where guests would begin their ninja training.
All of the interactive training will help prepare visitors prepare for Ninjago-The Ride, a three dimensional attraction that utilizes cutting-edge technology which enables guests to control the outcome of their adventure by using hand gestures.
Passengers will be able to earn points by shooting animated fireballs, lightning, shockwaves and ice as they travel, and the attraction will tabulate the scores for every person onboard, which would be displayed to riders at the conclusion.
The new themed portion of the park also features Lego building stations, a game to test reflexes, spinners to test balance, Asian cuisine and a new shopping venue, and guests will see key Ninjago characters adorned on almost everything.
Legoland California General Manager Peter Ronchetti released a statement about the Ninjago-themed portion of the park and the new ride:
"I am proud and thrilled to say that this is our eleventh straight year of continuous attendance growth and we attribute much of this to our winning formula of providing our guests a family environment filled with fun, interactive experiences that create lasting memories. Ninjago-The Ride will be the ultimate experience providing interactive fun for all."
