There were many winners during the 2018 Travvy Awards, but Mexico's local partners and destinations came out of the ceremony with a total of 18 awards during the Oscars of the Travel Industry.
Mexican gold victories at the Travvys included Best Wedding Destination - Overall (Riviera Maya) and Best Individual Resort - Overall (Hyatt Ziva Cancun), as well as silver victories for Best All-Inclusive Resort - Honeymoons (The Royal Playa Del Carmen), Best Individual Resort - Overall (UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya), Best Theme Park - Overall (Xcaret Park, Playa del Carmen) and Best Water Park - Overall (Xcaret Park, Playa del Carmen).
As for the Mexican categories of the Travvy Awards, UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya took home the gold in the Best All-Inclusive Adult/Couples Resort category, with Hyatt Zilara Cancun earning the silver.
"As the 8th most visited country in the world, we are honored Mexico continues to be one of the most recognized destinations by the Travvy Awards," Mexico Tourism CEO Hector Flores said in a statement.
"These accolades highlight the breadth of opportunities Mexico offers for travelers of all kinds, from couples looking to celebrate a special day in their lives, to families coming to relax and embrace a new culture, to adventurers looking to scale ruins and scuba dive with an array of rare underwater creatures, as Mexico is truly a world of its own."
As for the Best All-Inclusive Family Resort category, the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya earned gold while Generations Riviera Maya by Karisma walked away with silver. The Le Blanc Spa Resort won gold in the Best All-Inclusive Luxury Resort category, with UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya earning silver.
Other gold winners at the Travvys for Mexico include the Hyatt Ziva Cancun (Best Destination Wedding Hotel/Resort), Grand Velas Riviera Maya (Best Luxury Hotel/Resort) and Funjet Vacations (Best Vacation Packager).
