Visit Sarasota has announced that Siesta Key, one of the county’s most iconic beach destinations has been named the number one beach in the U.S. in U.S. News & World Report 2026 Best Vacation Rankings.
“We are thrilled to see Siesta Key recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the No. 1 Best Beach in the U.S.,” said Erin Duggan, President and CEO of Visit Sarasota County in a statement.
He added, “This honor is a meaningful reflection of the extraordinary beach experience visitors find here in Sarasota County. From the unmatched beauty of Siesta Key to our welcoming communities, vibrant arts scene and diverse culinary offerings, Sarasota
County offers travelers far more than a day at the beach — it offers a destination worth discovering again and again.”
Siesta Key is widely celebrated for its soft white quartz sand and broad appeal among families, couples and leisure travelers. With its powdery sand, clear Gulf waters and a beach experience that balances natural beauty with a relaxed coastal atmosphere,
the island offers a variety of beach experiences. These range from the lively energy and amenities of Siesta Beach to the quieter stretch of Crescent Beach, known for its more secluded feel and sunset views.
