With the holidays fast approaching, TravelPulse Radio co-hosts Tim Wood and Barry Kaufman caught up with TravelPulse senior editor Janeen Christoff in Europe to find out what makes it so special this time of year.
In the second half of Episode 10, Christoff details her ongoing trip across the continent, which began with experiencing Iceland's Blue Lagoon before continuing with a tour of Paris. The destination expert also discusses her family's experience at a German Christmas market in Munich and what it was like to celebrate St. Nicholas day with her daughters.
"We added Munich because I have always wanted to take my children to the Christmas markets. I wanted them to see and experience a traditional German Christmas market," said Christoff, while sailing the Rhine River from Amsterdam to Cologne, Germany aboard AmaWaterways' AmaCerto. "They went ice skating at the Christmas market, they had Christmas punch, they shopped."
"It was really spectacular. It was a dream come true."
While the holidays are celebrated all over the world, Christoff says Europe captures the spirit like few other destinations can.
"It's everything you think it's going to be and then more," she added.
Christoff also talks about stumbling into a Banksy art exhibit in Amsterdam and the most underrated must-see attractions.
