United Airlines resumed flights from Newark to Tel Aviv last weekend, signaling hopes that US travelers will begin visiting Israel again.
The airline’s resumption of service to the country came in the aftermath of El Al’s confirmation that it would add a new airlift from Fort Lauderdale to the country in April.
“With the return of US flights, we remain hopeful that tourism to Israel is showing signs of recovery,” said Eyal Carlin, North American commissioner for the Israel Ministry of Tourism.
“Initially, we have seen a significant number of faith-based and solidarity trips.
“With the return of flights from the US, new hotels, major attractions and the reopening of key venues, we feel optimistic this will provide tourists the reassurance they can begin to rebook and resume their travel to Israel again.”
In other tourism-related developments, C-Hotels unveiled The Almond Hotel, a 60-room adults-only property, which offers views of Jerusalem and the coastal plan. The hotel includes a restaurant, rooftop pool and spa featuring nine treatment rooms and a Turkish hammam.
The National Library of Israel is debuting a new four-acre campus close to the Knesset in Jerusalem’s National District, which couples distinguished collections with tranquil gardens.
