The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) welcomed His Excellency, Ambassador Nick Adams, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Tourism during his first major international public address, marking a new connection for public-private collaboration.
H.E. Adams is the first U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Tourism and is a former conservative political commentator and author. He spoke during a leadership conference in Egypt with WTTC, delivering the Leadership Keynote: Shaping the Next Phase of Travel, outlining America’s priorities in leading global travel and tourism.
The United States is hosting the World Cup this year, along with the G20 conference in Miami. It also remains the world’s largest travel and tourism market, representing $2.63 trillion of tourism’s gross domestic product.
“I’m pleased to see a new relationship develop between the United States and the World Travel & Tourism Council,” said H.E. Ambassador Nick Adams. “America is the number one tourism market in the world, and my aim is to drive more growth, jobs and national pride across the sector…With the United States also hosting the G20 this year, we have every opportunity to create more investment and hundreds of thousands of new jobs, as well as build an even stronger reputation for warmly welcoming visitors to our great country.”
H.E. Adams also noted that his personal goal was to see the United States welcome 100 million international visitors a year by 2030.
