The investments into Disneyland keep on coming.

New improvements to the resort were announced yesterday and include a new luxury, AAA Four Diamond hotel that is yet to be named as well as a new parking structure.

Downtown Disneyland is going to be transformed once the new resort springs up next to the Downtown Disney monorail on the west end of the shopping and dining area.

The resort will take up 17 acres and offer 700 rooms. There will also be two pools, concierge service, a children's area and a rooftop restaurant with views of the evening fireworks.

There is no specific theme for the property yet, but it is said to be a "lush oasis" with trees and water elements. It will also have direct monorail access with a special ramp from the hotel to the platform.

The property could displace current occupants, including an AMC theater, a Starbucks, the Rainforest Cafe and ESPN Zone, among others. It remains to be seen if these businesses will operate from within the hotel, move to new locations or abandon Downtown Disney altogether.

New Parking Structure

The Pinocchio parking lot will be transformed into a 6,500 space structure, adding more convenience for guests as well as easing street traffic in the area.

The new structure is set to break ground in early 2018 and replaces plans for an Eastern Gateway that was met with controversy by hoteliers and restaurants that expected to lose foot traffic across from Main Gate area.

The new structure in the Pinocchio lot will be six stories like its neighbor, the Mickey & Friends structure and there will be a revamped tram loading and unloading area.

There will also be improvements made to the ramp that currently goes into the Mickey & Friends lot. The ramp will provide access to both structures and six lanes will be added to the current 10.

Interest in visiting Disneyland is at an all-time high as the park is readying itself for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

The newly redone Disneyland Railroad just reopened and the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island are once again operating with "improvements." Despite the fact that the river was shortened and the island is now smaller, they are somehow cooler.

While there are so many improvements taking place, one area that still remains neglected is Tomorrowland. It seems that the land, anchored by popular attractions such as Star Tours and Space Mountain, is suffering from an identity crisis.

Perhaps, this neglected land will be next on the list?
