It’s smack in the middle of the holiday season, and if you’re looking for a place to go, you should think of Warren County, Ohio. Long known as a summertime retreat, this area fits what you're looking for on a vacation.
After all, they call themselves Ohio’s largest playground.
“Whether your niche is record-breaking roller coasters and wild water slides, or down-home dining and small town shops, you’re sure to find something you’re into in Warren County,” said Scott Hutchinson, communications manager, Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Warren County is home to one of the nation’s largest amusement and water parks (Kings Island), the state’s second-largest vineyard (Valley Vineyards) and the state’s oldest continuously operating business (the Golden Lamb).
“That wide array of attractions, as well our unique shops, local restaurants, comfortable hotels and easy accessibility makes us an awesome destination for both family road trips and grown-up getaways,” said Hutchinson.
Right now, Kings Island’s Winterfest, the Lebanon Horse-Drawn Carriage Parade and Christmas Festival and more end-of-the-year attractions are expected to once again draw crowds.
The Winterfest, which is back after a 12-year hiatus features ice skating, state-of-the-art light displays, live entertainment, festive food and the transformation of the park’s iconic Eiffel Tower into a giant Christmas tree. The fest runs through December 30.
On December 2, the Lebanon’s Horse-Drawn Carriage Parade & Christmas Festival will feature more than 100 decorated carriages pulled by mini horses, Clydesdales, Percherons, and more, as well as live entertainment, specialty shopping and food and craft booths.
