DreamWorks Animation announced Monday, Feb. 24, that it was teaming up with Merlin Entertainments to launch a Shrek-themed visitor attraction in London, which will be called Shrek's Far Far Away Adventure, Daily Mail reports.
Projected to open in the summer of 2015, the 20,000-square-foot attraction will feature a live interactive adventure featuring Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Puss in Boots and other characters from the franchise.
It will be the first of six Shrek attractions that will be unveiled over nine years.
Nick Varney, chief exec of Merlin, said the attraction is "the start of what we hope will be a wider collaboration with DreamWorks Animation."
Merlin operates 100 attractions, nine hotels and three holiday villages in 22 countries across four continents.
In related news, Dreamworks has hinted that there will be a fifth and final film in the "Shrek" franchise.
CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg insists the story of Shrek still has "another chapter" left to tell and he insists they're "not finished" with the animated adventure.
Talking to Fox Business Network in an interview, he said: "We like to let them have a little bit of time to rest. But I think you can be confident that we'll have another chapter in the 'Shrek' series. We're not finished, and more importantly, neither is [Shrek]."
The most recent film, "Shrek Forever After," was released in 2010.
Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy will likely return for the fifth installment.
