To make this year's Halloween Horror Nights events even scarier, officials from Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood have announced that new mazes themed after classic horror movie The Shining will be added starting in September.
For horror fans who loved The Shining in book or film form, Halloween Horror Nights will allow guests to re-live some of the story's most terrifying moments.
Visitors will explore the Overlook Hotel, witness the haunted past of the resort and watch the descent into madness by caretaker Jack Torrance.
Guests will be forced to work their way through a maze featuring the ghostly entities from The Shining lurking around every corner. Throughout the time inside the maze, visitors will also have to contend with the ever-present Torrance and his insanity.
For many horror movie fans, The Shining is one of the greatest films of all time. Debuting in 1980, Stanley Kubrick's interpretation of Stephen King's novel has influenced a multitude of films, television shows and music, (while also scaring people from all walks of life).

The Shining's addition to Halloween Horror Nights is the latest marquee move by Universal Studios to ensure its annual Halloween tradition continues to scare guests year after year. Actors fill the themed scare zones, mazes and haunted houses, lunging from every darkened corner.
Universal has announced the dates for the 2017 edition of Halloween Horror Nights, which will begin on Sept. 15 and run through Nov. 4. Tickets are now on sale, with prices for a one-night ticket costing $69.99 (Sunday through Friday), and Saturday tickets priced at $80.99.
