A proposed ErotikaLand theme park in Brazil has outraged Christian groups who say that the park would attract "debauched individuals" to the area, according to Fox News.

The proposed park in Piracicaba would offer a nudist pool, a snack bar serving aphrodisiacs and a "pleasure train" manned by male and female gogo dancers. But it's not the first of its kind. In fact, there are several attractions around the world that cater to erotica.

Jeju Loveland

Brazil's ErotikaLand will definitely have some competition right from the start. Jeju Loveland on Jeju Island in South Korea holds the distinction as the world's first sex theme park. It debuted in 2004 and contains a collection of more than 140 statues and erotic exhibitions.

Amsterdam Red Light District

Brothels, sex shops, museums. Amsterdam's Red Light District is one of the world's most well-known erotic playgrounds. The Rossebuurt, as it's known to locals, is the city's most provocative neighborhoods - and one of its most popular tourist attractions. While it's common to see men strolling through or couples perusing a storefront window, it's also common to see busloads of Japanese tourists being dropped off for a wander through its red-lit streets.

Erotic Heritage Museum in Las Vegas

Of course Sin City has a museum dedicated to erotica. The Erotic Heritage Museum is a 24,000 square-foot, two-story space dedicated to the promotion, preservation and acceptance of human sexuality. It's the largest erotic museum in the world and is focused on educational and experiential aspects of sex as well as providing a place for people to learn about communities and celebrate their sexuality free from judgment.

There are several rotating - and interactive - exhibits, an exhibit devoted to adult film, an eclectic collection of antique and ancient sex toys and more. Be warned - this place is not for the bashful.

The Love Valley, Cappadocia, Turkey

Not all sexy attractions have to be man made. In Cappadocia, many people fly over its famous fairy chimneys with an eye to a certain cluster of formations. These pillars have been referred to as "Love Valley" for their phallic shape, formed as volcanic rock eroded in the area.

Chiang Mai Erotic Garden

Visitors rave about their time at the Chiang Mai Erotic Garden and Teahouse on TripAdvisor where they lavish praise on the owner's stellar hospitality and stunning garden that is full of playful erotic depictions, phallic symbols and artistic displays. There is a fine line between erotic symbolism and pornography, and this museum doesn't come close to crossing it.

The entrance fee of 300 baht comes with a free drink and visitors are welcome to stay and enjoy the garden at their leisure.

Chateau of the Marquis de Sade

Kinda twisted? Maybe. But the history of the Marquis de Sade comes alive in Provence, France, where his former Lacoste chateau lies in ruins but is now owned by famed fashion designer Pierre Cardin and has been transformed into an art museum.

Cardin owns the castle and a variety of buildings in the village. His own home is on the grounds and is a private space but, within the rest of the property, visitors are free to roam and use their imaginations to imagine what might have gone on within the deconstructed castle walls.
