Interested in an opportunity to earn a little extra cash and escape to the tropics ahead of chilly winter weather? Now is the time to enter Vivint Solar's Eco-Adventure Challenge, accepting applicants through November 18, 2019, which aims to select one green-living and travel enthusiast who'll receive $6,000 from the company to plan, execute and document a totally "green" trip to Maui.
The winner will be paid $2,000 for their time, plus receive a travel stipend of $4,000 with which to arrange the ultimate Maui ecotourism trip, opting for eco-friendly lodging, transportation, activities and dining selections that respect and authentically celebrate Hawaiian culture.
Through this project, Vivint Solar, a leading U.S. residential service provider, seeks to raise awareness about the importance feasibility of making eco-friendly and environmentally responsible choices while traveling.
"Vivint Solar is committed to helping homeowners make more environmentally responsible choices about how they power their homes, but we realize the impact of humans on the environment extends beyond the home," Miranda Barnard, VP of Marketing at Vivint Solar, said in a press release. "That's why the goal of this challenge is to bring awareness to the potential for making more environmentally-conscious decisions while traveling to destinations with diverse ecosystems like Maui."
Applicants must be over the age of eighteen and authorized to work in the U.S. in order to be considered; and candidates should possess a passion for aiding the environment and spreading awareness about the fun, ease and benefit of traveling "green", as well as a demonstrated aptitude for capturing his or her experiences in words and photos via social media.
After the entry period closes, a board of Vivint Solar employees will review submissions based upon candidates' proposed ideas for eco-friendly travel, and their expressed ability to creatively and effectively plan and document their adventures, if selected.
