It's been nearly 40 years since the Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta opened its doors to travelers around the world, and ever since it has received only the highest reviews from its many new and return visitors. On nearly every consumer review site, this AAA Four Diamond resort has earned ratings of more than 4.5 for its "EXCELLENT service," stunning property, and spacious, well-kept rooms.
As if it needed any improvements, the Posadas Group has spent much of the last year revamping the property in preparation for its Oct. 14 grand unveiling as the Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta All-Inclusive & Spa.
Visitors to the resort will now have a chance to experience a world-class eco spa, new restaurants and newly-implemented all-inclusive amenities.
As part of the hotel's reimagined all-inclusive offerings, guests have the option to order round-the-clock room service during breakfast, lunch and dinner, with only a small $15 service fee between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
A new category of family accommodations has been added in which up to four children under the age of 12 can stay with two full-paying adults at a lower rate. Families with these reservations will now also enjoy a separate check-in area where information will be given on the kids' club and brand new club for teens.

Beverages and snacks found in each room's mini bar are also now included with all reservations, and those staying on the upgraded Fiesta Club level have the option to avoid heading down to the restaurants for breakfast and instead have hot or cold early morning meals at the club's lounge. The lounge also serves wine, cheeses and appetizers in the early evening hours, which makes it a nice relaxing stop between a long day under the sun and an exciting nightlife adventure.
Of the hotel's eight dining options-a major upgrade from the hotel's previous three restaurants-four are completely new concepts and two were introduced as of November.
At Tiantáng, which means "paradise" in Chinese, guests can enjoy a la carte servings of Asian-inspired cuisine, and at the fine-dining establishment, Rosato, Italian food is the specialty.
The previous La Hacienda has been completely remodeled and replaced with El Mexicano, which offers the same menu as Fiesta Americana's much-loved restaurants of the same name in Cancun and Los Cabos. Fans of La Hacienda will also be pleased to find that some of their favorite dishes have remained on the menu.
The former Sunset restaurant has been re-envisioned as a dual-purpose dining space with La Cevicheria open from noon to 7 p.m., serving light appetizers and refreshing Mexican beers. The restaurant's specialty will be ceviche, the popular seafood dish found in coastal regions from Mexico to South America. Guests can choose from a variety of ceviche recipes, which are made from fresh, raw fish cured with lemon or lime juice and combined with a vegetable mixture commonly made of tomato, cilantro, onion and spices to round out the flavor. The dish is generally served with tortilla chips or tostada shells for scooping up the delectable afternoon delicacy.

For dinner, La Cevicheria will become Fajita's House, which will serve authentic Mexican food a la carte. Diners will love the moonlit view of the beach and ocean here.
Tapas Lounge has taken over the newly-remodeled Lounge Bar, offering small-bite plates to accompany wine and beer. Live music is also available here three nights a week.
Also new to the resort since November is the Deli Express, where guests can pick up specialty coffees and blended juices.
Another reimagined restaurant is the Italian concept Rosato, which has taken over the larger portion of the previous Italian restaurant L'isola. Again, the most beloved menu items from the old restaurant will be included in the new menu, carried over from the Cancun and Los Cabos properties.
The L'isola name will still be used, however, in the unique 30-person fine-dining restaurant that sits on a small island in the center of the pool. This is the only restaurant that will not be included in the all-inclusive price, rather it will serve as a private dining experience for couples, small wedding parties and business gatherings. The menu will offer steak and lobster with pairings of fine wine.
All of the restaurants, aside from L'isola, work on a first-come, first-served basis, so guests can put their names on a waiting list and enjoy a drink at the nearest bar, rather than wait in a long line of hungry, potentially prickly people. This allows guests a more relaxed, enjoyable experience.

Interested in learning how to make some of the authentic Mexcian dishes found at the restaurants? Guests will also be able to participate in cooking classes and learn about native agave plants and the tequila-making process, followed by tequila tastings.
One of the most important additions to the Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta All-Inclusive & Spa hotel is none other than the spa. Previously, the resort's salon offered a few select facials and massages, but after a major build out, the new spa has expanded to reveal an adults-only tropical paradise with wooden pathways, relaxing waterfalls and lush plants.
The unique design of Spa Na'Ha' incorporates seven palapa-style cabins with Mexican palm leaf-thatched rooftops. One of the seven cabins comes complete with its own private Jacuzzi specific to the spa's romantic couples' treatments.
Na'Ha' offers some of the most luxurious treatments in the city, such as the Choco Wrap, which uses cacao from the Yucatan region to boost serotonin levels for a blissful experience. The treatment begins with refreshing peppermint white chocolate mixed with coconut granules used to exfoliate dead skin for a glowing result. A chocolate mask then extracts any remaining impurities in the skin, and to complete the transformation cocoa-scented moisturizer is applied for a soothing, heavenly finish.
After basking in the sun all day, a facial can help replenish the body's most sensitive surface. The Agave Illuminating Facial helps to fight the aging effects of the sun by lifting the face and neck and contouring the eyes for a look that's years younger.
Those with ultra-sensitive skin will be pleased to find one of the facials has been specially created for delicate skin. The noninvasive ingredients used in this facial are helpful for combating fatigue, restoring sun-depleted energy levels and giving vitality back to the dermis.
Much like the Aztecs who once lived in the region now known as Puerto Vallarta who believed in purifying the body through cleansing rituals, all guests of the spa can utilize the hydrotherapy wellness pool to rejuvenate the body and revitalize the soul.
With all of the major changes happening at this resort, much of what the Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta has been known for-its four-star accommodations with all rooms facing the Pacific Ocean, laid-back atmosphere with a vendor-free private stretch of beach, and close proximity to old town Zona Romantica-will still be here. Seems like a win-win for all involved.
