Delta Air Lines and American Express have launched a new series of travel benefits for Delta SkyMiles American Express Card Members, along with new card designs and new card member welcome offers.

The first thing to know is that current card members don’t have to worry about any increases in annual fees.

Basic Delta SkyMiles Gold, Platinum and Reserve Consumer and Business card members will now all enjoy a complimentary second checked bag on domestic flights.

Delta raised its checked bag fees by $10 in April following the war in the Middle East, as several other air carriers have done.

First and second checked bags now cost $45 and $55, respectively—making the co-branded credit card an attractive value proposition for travelers who’d enjoy free checked bags.

Delta SkyMiles Gold and Gold Business card members will now enjoy a new $120 annual rideshare credit after renewing their card with select providers, with up to $10 on monthly statement credits on rideshare purchases.

Travelers will enjoy new card designs to celebrate 2026, thirty years of Delta’s partnership with American Express. Reserve and Reserve business cards will have a new slate color, while all credit cards will feature a refreshed design.

Travelers who’d like to receive a Delta SkyMiles American Express card for the first time can enjoy several limited-time offers when they’re approved by July 15, 2026. New Gold card members will earn 70,000 bonus miles after spending $3,000 on their card within the first six months, plus 20,000 more bonus miles if that total reaches $5,000 in the first six months.

Those applying for a Platinum card can earn 80,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 in the first 6 months. If they spend a total of $6,000 in the first six months, they’ll receive an additional 20,000 bonus miles.

New Reserve card members can earn 100,000 bonus miles for spending $6,000 in the first six months. If they spend $9,000 total in the first six months, they’ll receive an additional 25,000 bonus miles.

New Business card members will enjoy limited-time bonus miles offers with a minimum spend requirement.
